Deliveroo Says Gong Xi Fa Cai With An Auspicious Sweet Treat

  • Order in from Deliveroo Editions CT Hub 2 this Chinese New Year to snag yourself a pair Mandarin Orange Petit Gâteaus

Beyond customs and traditions, food of course, is one of the biggest - and best - parts of Chinese New Year. And who better to serve up a twist on tradition this festive season than Singapore's favourite delivery service Deliveroo? This Chinese New Year, Deliveroo has partnered with local home baker Sugar Thieves to create limited edition Mandarin Orange Petit Gâteaus (translated directly to "small cake") to "bai nian" and send gorgeously delicious well wishes to our fans!

It is customary to exchange mandarin oranges, or "gam" during the Chinese New Year, to express one's best wishes for the year ahead. "Gam", meaning gold in Cantonese, signifies wealth and good fortune, and having this lucky fruit around is said to bring riches and abundance for the year ahead.

In true Deliveroo-style, we've switched things up to give away Mandarin Orange Petit Gâteaus instead - these are shaped just like mandarin oranges, but better! Made from oolong mousse, with a mandarin center, citrus sponge and oolong jelly paired with tea sable cookies, the Mandarin Orange Petit Gâteaus are the perfect sweet treat from us to you, to usher in abundance and good fortune in the Year of the Pig.

Customers can receive a pair of auspicious Mandarin Orange Petit Gâteaus with every order from Deliveroo Editions, CT Hub 2 between 8 to 10 February 2019. Fastest fingers first!
